How do you change your profile to be not hidden instead of hidden?

i don't know why but for awhile my profile won't let me unhide it even when i click the 'Unhide my profile' button

That's not how it's done. Go to your Profile page and edit each category, in doing so, you'll get a chance to select who see's what. The things you don't want anyone to see, choose Visible to no one. Other things you may want to select Visible to Contacts, or Visible to Everyone. That's how you decide who sees your Profile.
