How do I make my aim screen name private?

How do u make a new screen name for aim but keep ur friends?

  There's a few ways you can do this. First thing I would do, I would create my new screen name and add it to my buddies on my old screen name's account. Then have both screen names "online" at the same time [you'll need two computers] and select "send Buddy List" and that should do the trick.
