Why can't I view people's profile in Yahoo Games who are not on my messenger list?

Under the contacts section the "view contacts" words are not highlighted so I am unable to select them. They only become highlighted when I click on a name in my messenger list. I used to be able to click on view profile then type in a screen name to view their profile, but since I updated the latest version of messenger I can no longer do this.
