How do you get an avatar as my profile picture?

I want an avatar and i dont know how to get one! I know how to get a pic but I dont know how to get an avatar.

Click "My Activity" at top of page Select "Edit My Preferences" Click "Update photo or avatar" Follow instructions to select your photo/avatar Click "Submit" on bottom of original page when done To make a carton avatar: http://avatar.yahoo.com Make sure your Pulse profile is not hidden. :o)
