How do you make your profile picture one of those cartoon people?

I no this is a stupid question but im sorta new to all of this but how do u make those cartoon people that look like you. i see alot of people have them as there pictures and im assuming its like an avatar that you can make loook like you.

Go to My Activity Click on - Edit my preferences. Select - Update photo or avatar There you can update your image by following some simple instructions. Ensure that your pulse profile is not hidden. You can make your customized avatars here http://avatar.yahoo.com All the best :)

For a pic or avatar.Go to edit my preferences at the right of your avatar click update photo or avatar.you can get an avatar at http://avatars.yahoo.com/home.php?g=fIn the box that opens select add photo or customize avatar. Folow the instructions and job done.Make sure your pulse is not set to private as that stops it from appearing,
