How do I use my nickname instead of my real name on messenger?

Can't use my alias with instant messenger. My real name comes up. Putting alias in nickname didn't work.

    Ok to stop your real name coming up in yahoo messenger all you have to do is go into your yahoo email account with that id...sign into your email...On the right hand side of the screen you'll see options....click on options then click on general preferences...and you'll see that name changing area right there just put the name in you want people to see you as then save the changes and that will take care of your problem...I hope this helps...Good luck =)
