How to hide profile on Yahoo?

  • This new "wonderful" Yahoo pulse is a nightmare. I just opened this account and was forced into new Yahoo. I have been trying all week to hide my profile. The sliding bar to do this under settings remains green (visible) and will not turn to gray (hidden). Yahoo will not help me and I must hide my profile. This is a business account and personal information isn't something I want revealed. Again, SLIDING BAR TO HIDE DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!

    If you want to remove the information, make your account private in 'Edit my Preferences' under the My Activity tab at the top of an Answers page. First, delete all personal information from your profile and Pulse account (Save the changes). Go to the Privacy and Communications tab of Edit My Preferences, and in the Sharing and Communications area part-way down, set all options to 'Contacts only', and un-check 'Allow someone to become my fan'. Submit. Then delete all Contacts and Fans if you wish, so they won't be notified when you ask questions or answer. Your questions and answers will still be able to be seen, but only on the main pages or in the archives or on Web search pages - nothing you can do about that except change your alias! By the way, you can also switch back to the older Classic mail version too ... Yahoo has a new Help page with a direct link to switching back to Classic Mail! This Help page link and solution are new, and a permanent change. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ymail/context/migrationv2.html At the end of the second paragraph, click either [click here] IN BLUE or [No thanks. Continue to Yahoo Mail Classic] - whichever of those appears on your screen. (Ribbit)

Find the section marked Privacy. Click on the "Edit" pencil icon in the corner. By using the slider buttons, you can manage you Privacy settings from here. Click Save. Make sure U click on Edit first or U will not be able to slide the bar over .
