How do you add a Profile picture to your Yahoo Profile now that yahoo no longer hosts picutures?
-
Everytime I try I get told Yahoo no longer hosts photos and get sent to the flicker page. Well I've created a flicker profile, uploaded a photo and set the flicker profile photo. But I can't figure out how to add a picture to my Yahoo Profile

Answer:
Currently you can't add nor delete a photo on your profile page. Photos are now being handled in part by flickr & various other photo sharing sites. The only options thus far are to add a photo to the messenger, 360° & Answers. Suggestion: Go to or create an account with flickr. http://flickr.com/ Upload the image from your pc in ".jpeg" or ".jpg" or ".jpe" format only. Click on the "Your Photos" tab Scroll down to the bottom of the page Click the tab at the very bottom right-hand side "+MY Y!" The "+MY Y!" option at flickr adds your image to the "My Photo" window for Yahoo but so far it only works for Yahoo! Messenger & 360°. Yahoo! and/or flickr have been going through many system changes and/or possible updates & I'm afraid nothing can be done until Yahoo or perhaps flickr decide to include an option for adding a photo to the profile page. At any rate, if you wish to remain with Yahoo! & have a personal photo you will need to create a 360° account, use the uploaded flickr photo & complain as much as possible about photo options & perhaps one day the problem will be resolved. * The link to 360° as well as flickr are listed in the source window.

Same here. I added my photos to the Kodak directory, and when I try to "browse" Yahoo tells me my account is CLOSED FOR MIGRATION. Well, yahoo, you're the one that told me to move the photos. I can't even delete the old photo (of me on a beach a year ago!) When they closed their yahoo photo section, didn't they think people would need to change profile photos? I can't believe they would take until 2008 to finish this "migration" process. My photos are ready on Kodak. My photos are ready on my computer... yet I can't add them to my profile. How crazy is that?

Add me three... I had no idea Yahoo would make it so darn difficult if not impossible. thing is; saying that yahoo no longer host pictures isn't really true. They've terminated Yahoo Photo and focused on Flickr (which is a Yahoo brand)... Flickr is Yahoo.

There is no way to do it. I have looked high and low for an answer, and there is nothing. The Yahoo avatars are NOT a good substitute.

Good Question. I have read somewhere that yahoo is doing something new to profiles. It won't take affect until 2008 though. Hopefully with the upgrade they're supposely talking about. It should also fix the picture upload area too. So, be patient.
