Is it illegal to access a password secured voicemail box for a cell phone, to listen to another persons messag?

(this message was just posted and i deleted it somehow sorry to those who messaged me without getting it posted but thank you!) I have a boyfriend who's crazy ex keeps calling from restricted numbers and different phones to get to his voicemails on his cell phone. Somehow she figured out his password (and she tried MANY TIMES). She Keeps listening to his messages then harrassing us about everything...even has an angry message i left him (I was in quite a mood and cutting him down in it with everything i could muster). Now says she has some recordings of that voicemail to take to court and prove he's an unfit person for their daughter to be around... He's by far not a bad person but everyone fights! I'm worried that a voice recording he just never deleted will make him pay a heavy cost! In short i'm wondering if a voicemail that was private and of me being very upset could be used against him in court to hurt his relationship with his daughter?!

Answer:
Yes, yes and yes. You need to go to the police with this information and press charges with the DA. And no she can't use stolen property to take him to court. She'd be incriminating herself. Take this to the cops as not only has she hacked a voice mail that is not her, he has possession of stolen material and is blackmailing your boyfriend- all of which have serious consequences, and could lead to her losing her custody rights. If she was a smart woman should should back off. But like I said, GO TO THE COPS document all this behavior and let her know that this will not stand.

No it's not I don't think, but it's mean and awfull, Do a little research behind the matter, and stop leaving nasty messages, that won't help it will just push him away, but then maybe you need someone better. Wake-up get out while you can.......... A Friend.....

If she actualy recorded your voice without your permission, you didnt leave it on her phone - so she did not have permission to even hear it- then I would say NO its not legal .. and because she is so Obsesive and wants to cause problem in Court - she will be the one that is looked down on. My sis in law caused all kinds of drama, calling the fathers of the children complaining the kids where sent back dirty , they smelled like smoke.. what ever.. she was the one that got the short end of the stick in court.. because she constantly nit picked.. and the court was sick of it.
