How do you permanently turn off voice in yahoo chat?

How do I turn of the 'Voice' facility on Yahoo Chat?

Whenever I enter a new chatroom a error comes up saying 'The computer's audio mixer could not be initialized.' Now I have no intention of using the voice facilities and was wondering whether I can shut it off. I know I can press the Voice tab at the top of the chat window but I don't want to have to do this everytime I enter a new room. Thanks in advance Gus

SOunds like you need to re-configure your audio device. Click Control Panel in the Start menu, and in there click on Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure you have the right device selected and that the latest driver is installed and working properly.
