How do i get my logitech webcam to work?

I finally got the logitech webcam to work, however, i cant get the mic to work.?

• I dl the old version of messenger instead of the Vista version, but I cant get the mic to work. Windows is searching for the problem(which cud take till eternity)...HElp!!!

  Trythis, click on start then click on control panel. When that window opens double click on sounds and audio devices. Click on audio and make sure your logitech mic is selected as the default device. If it isn't, change it to that and make it the default device then click o.k. Next click on the voice tab and repeat to make sure your logitech mic is the default. Hope that works.
