Yahoo Messenger and Free Voice Calls to Smartphones?

Let's say my contact has a smartphone with free unlimited data. The contact also has the Yahoo Messenger app installed on his phone and the phone is always connected to the web. If I use my PC to call that person with Yahoo Messenger (not call their actual phone number), is it free? Is it considered a PC-to-PC call? If I have a smartphone with the Yahoo app w/ free unlimited data, and I call that contact, is it free? Keep in mind that I am NOT calling an actual phone number (mobile or landline); I am using a "voice chat" option.

Yes, call will always be free. What you are making is voip calls and not normal telecom calls. So your phone calls will always be free.
