Why do my archive messages not show up on Messenger?

How do u save archive messages before reinstalling the messenger without losing them?

• For the last few days, I've used yahoo messenger and whenever I log in and I scroll down it makes me close the messenger. I want to reinstall the yahoo messenger, but one slight problem. I don't want to lose messages from my archives folder in my yahoo messenger. Ive found some websites on how to save and restore archive messages. Neither of those websites are clear to me and give great instructions. Can anyone please help me? It would really help me. Thank you in advance

  Because your archives are stored on your 'C' drive you do not have to make provision to save them when you upgrade. You would need to do so if changing computers or OS.The procedure would be to copy them to a memory stick or CD and paste them in their new location. Have a look in your C drive on your computer - not in the Yahoo messenger software file but in the Yahoo profile file - My archive is stored here - (Vista) > Start \ computer \ Local disc (C) \ Users\ xxxx (my name) \ Apps \ AppData \ Local\ VirtualStore \Program Files \ Yahoo! \ Messenger \ Profiles I think (?) from memory I used to access them from my old computer > Start /My Computer / C:drive / Program Files / Yahoo/ Messenger / Profiles / archive
