    there is no MODE!!! just type any number and type the text you want to send as SMS. if the person's mobile carrier/provider does not allow the user to send/receive SMS, then you will get a failure message. check on Yahoo Mobile Service for the country's lists and mobile carriers.

In Messenger, click Messenger on the Tool bar and scroll to Sign into a Mobile Device, during the course of signing up, you're going to see the option, Automatically sign me into my mobile phone whenever I log out of Messenger.
