Is it safe to use web cam on yahoo messenger?

  • I was chatting with a stranger on yahoo messenger, then we decided to do it cam-to-cam... I knew that the person on the other end could already see me in his computer, but while i was still waiting for his webcam to set up in my computer, his webcam suddenly showed my face, the same thing that was shown in my webcam...So basically, what i could see in my webcam and in his webcam was my face... What does this mean?.Was there a possibility that he was recording my webcam?

    He was probably using Manycam, a program which acts in the webcam module. With Manycam, you can set a portion of your desktop to be your cam display, so he probably had the portion showing your cam as his webcam.
