How do I delete a Yahoo Messenger contact?

• I have a contact that shows up on my Yahoo Messenger online contacts list and when I click on them it says they're not in my contacts list (but they show up as being online on my Yahoo Messenger). How do I delete them so they're gone from my contacts list completely? I tried adding them and then deleting but it didn't work
