How to make a new webcam work in a messenger and skype, when the original turns on instead?

Hello, people. Original webcam on my Toshiba laptop has been acting out lately - turning off by itself due to a smallest movement. I bought a new webcam that is connected via USB port. It works just fine but when when I turn on skype or msn messenger original webcam in my laptop turns on. How do I get my new webcam work? -thank you

Disconnect the new webcam from the USB port Navigate to the Device Manager and expand the 'Imaging' folder ( by clicking on the boxed + to the left of the folder. Right click on the webcam text and select 'Disable' The webcam may not show in the Imaging folder unless it is running. To set your new webcam as default in WLM Connect the new webcam and open Windows Messenger Tools > Audio Tuning Wizard > Set the new webcam in the dropbox > Next Camera should start > Next > Next > Set mic as default Next - adjust speaker volume > adjust mic volume > Finish Carry out the same exercise on Skype

a box usually pops up asking for permission to use the webcam and i believe you can choose which webcam/microphone you want to use.
