How to open a DAT file?

How do i open a yahoo messenger archive DAT file?

• my husband has been chatting up some woman online and i cant open the archive to catch him red handed.....help!

  You need an archive decoder for that. It will decode the archive DAT files. You can use any one of the two programs i list below: Click here for YahDecode - Yahoo Message Archive Decoder: http://www.intellectualheaven.com/default.asp?BH=projects&H=yahdecode.htm and download either version 1.0 or version 1.1 (i personally have version 1.0) Click here for Yahoo Messenger Archive Reader: http://www.carbonize.co.uk/Yahoo/archive.php If you use yahdecode, after opening the yahdecode.exe file , you'll see all the IDs people have used on your computer for yahoo messenger. For the ID of which you want to read the archive, click on it, and then click on messages and you'll see the person's ID whom they chat with. Once you click on the person's ID , on the right pane it'll show you the archive with dates, click on it to open the archive. If you use yahoo messenger archive reader, again in the left pane you'll see the IDs which have been used to logon to yahoo messenger, so click on an ID and then click archive > messages > person talked with > archive date. And on the right pane the archive will open up. oh by the way, if you didn't know, you don't need your husband's password to open his ID's archives with these decoders ---- Ok, well i saw the question when you posted, but i wasn't going to answer it because i wouldn't like it at all if somebody did this on me even if the nature of my chats are casual. So i didn't want you to invade on your hubby's privacy...but oh well, for knowledge's sake if there is something that works, its my 'duty' to share it.
