How do I get back to the chat ship?

What is this chat box on my mail page and how can I get rid of it?

• On my Yahoo Mail page there is a box that says "Chat and Mobile Text". I don't know why that is there, but it causes me trouble from time to time. When I least expect it my Messenger disconnects because it says I have signed into chat. I never sign into chat. Then, sometimes I'll get a message saying I have been signed out of chat because I signed into Messenger. Why does this happen? I don't even want this chat thing on my mail page. I only use Messenger. How can I get rid of the chat box?

  You may be getting this message because you are disconnecting from Yahoo Messenger because you are going to your mailbox and you are signing into Mail Chat automatically. Besides your username, you should see an option, "Available". Click on it and change your status to "Offline" by clicking on "Sign out of Chat". You will then be able to log back into IM and stay logged in. You cannot be signed into both IM and Mail Chat at the same time.
