Why is my yahoo messenger 9.0 not working?

My Yahoo messenger stopped working, I want to keep my archive, ..anyone ?

My Yahoo messenger stopped working, it turns "bleached" whitish and then a pop up says that yahoo messenger stopped working and it will close itself off... then POOF! goes off.. Normally i wouldn't mind but in my yahoo messenger i do have very important conversation archives that I want to keep therefore i do not want to UNINSTALL AND INSTALL a new one, which would be the normal solution for this problem.... I managed to send myself the history of such conversations archives but there is absolutely no way to recover them and read them. it's like having a stuffed doll as a pet LOL... Does anyone know how do I get to read my archives that i saved ??? the extension is = .dat but doesn't seem to be opening with anything... Either that or how can i FIX my YAHOO MESSENGER !! PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE thanks I appreciate it !!!
