Can I send free text messages abroad via chikka in Saudi Arabia?

How the hell do i send and receive text messages to saudi arabia?? keep coming back undelivered?

  • the mobile number trying to send to is viable but ones from it to mine and vice versa keep arriving back at both phones saying delivery failed! any ideas??

    Tecting service may not exist between countries. The data is sent differently than a normal phone call. It's like the difference between having a telephone line and a morse code line. The two just aren't the same. Or for a better visual, like trying to drive a boat (text message) on a road, rather than water. Yeah I don't know where I pulled that metaphor from. For some reason it just popped in my head.

You may not be surprised to know that there are security issues involved. Certain words/phrases cannot be used. Certain numbers will remain 'unobtainable' to and from the West. All phone messages and texts sent to and from Saudi Arabia plus many other middle east countries are monitored and filtered via the USA. It may be here that your problem can be solved. Then again, its probably a bad line.

have someone to help you from other phone. check if your phone and the recpient are capable to send international numbers (if you are outside saudi). if you have a mobile number like 055xxxxxxx delete the zero and add the country code which is 00966 (and the immediately the 5 onwards. Good luck.
