How can I get rid of 'Chat' and get my old Yahoo Messenger back?

Ever since the introduction of 'Chat' i can't log in to Yahoo Messenger. any suggestions?

If all else fails try this: Remove it if it is version 9.0. Then download and install version 8.1.0.421. below. version 9.0 is full of bugs. you won't lose your contacts http://www.filehippo.com/download_yahoo_... After doing that you may need to install the latest version of adobe flash player below. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplaye... You might also have to update your JAVA http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

you cant get rid of the in built chat, here is something for you to do, make sure you log off the inbuilt chat before you log on yahoo messenger, you cannot be logged on to both of them. or log off yahoo messenger if you want to use the inbuilt chat

Go into Yahoo mail, set your staus to 'offline' by using the dropbox next to your name - sign into messenger
