How do u get IM on yahoo?

How do u get on yahoo messenger(8.1) to IM friends. i seriously need help. Please help my yahoo friends!!!!!!

  • how do u use yahoo messenger 8.1. how do geton to actually start an im canversation with someone. im starting to start a conversation with my friend and its not working. Does anyone know why its not working. i seriously need help because this is a very important friend. her name is niya. i need to talk to her and my other friend vanessa. please yahoo users. if u know anything at all help me. im so desperate right know i dont know what to do. im gonna go crazy if i dont find a way to IM!!!!!!!!!!

    On your desktop, there should be a Y! messenger icon. Double click on it. Then sign in. When your done, I bet you will see a list of your friends. If your friends are not on the list, you haven't added them yet. Click on the add contact button. Type in your friend's details. When your done with that, you can add some more friends. Then, double click on one of your friends. A window pops up. Click on the invite button. Then, you can invite your other friend. So all three of you will see each others' messages. If you want to talk separately with each, just double click on the other friend, and you could have as many conversation windows open as you like! Good luck & hope this helped! -Layla
