How do I use chat on a mac?

I use Mac with OS X. Can I use Yahoo chat? If yes, how? Answer, if you are sure.?

  • I have used Yahoo Messanger 2.5.3 and 3.0 Beta versions on Mac with OS X. There is no place to click for chat in these versions. A few other persons have asked the same question. The answers have been vague, with no concrete solution. May be the chat is not possible on Mac at this time. Answer only if you have sure.

    Chat rooms are currently unsupported on Yahoo! Messenger for Mac v2.5.3 or v3.0 beta1. Remember that the application is still in beta, so chat rooms will most likely be included in the final release. The simple fact is, if you're not a Windows user, you can't access Yahoo! chat rooms. There is an application called Charla which supposedly allows Mac users to access Y! chat rooms, but I don't think it works. You can give it a try: http://homepage.mac.com/gershwin/charla.html
