Where are the YM archives stored on my computer?

I would like to know about messenger archives. Are they only stored on individual computers?

I recently changed computers and I need some information that can only be found in past archives. Does yahoo store archives or is it only the computer you are at at the time that is able to provide that material?

your archives are encrypted and stored as .dat files in... C:\ Program Files\ Yahoo!\ Messenger\ Profiles \username \ Archive\ Messages on the computer which you had the conversations... if you still have access to your other computer you can transfer them across to your new one though :)

Unfortunately yahoo itself does not keep your message archives and yes they are restored only on individual computers. this means that you will not be able to retrieve your past archives if you're using a different computer other that the computer where you have kept your previous archives.
