Cant see text on yahoo messenger?

ok so I installed yahoo messenger and when i send a message the text doesnt appear in the chat window, and I cannot see what others send me as well. I have windows vista.

Re: @L.B.'s advice ... system 32 is the main Windows program - delete that and you crash your computer for sure!
