How can I chat using my mobile phone?

Using Yahoo Messenger to chat with someone on a cell phone.?

  • My sister has yahoo messenger on her cell phone, she is listed as being Mobile. She has a text messaging plan, and i was wondering, if he sends me any text messages to my yahoo messenger or if i send messages to her, does Yahoo charge me. Or do i only get charged to make Phone Calls through yahoo messenger and not to text message someone.

    I actually use this feature all the time. Yahoo messenger does not charge you any money to send and receive texts. However your sister will be charged normally by her cell phone provider. To minimize on costs I usually send the max allowed per message rather than the one line im's i usually send in messenger. This way she is charged once instead of multiple times.

Yahoo doesn't charge for this service. It is treated just as if they are another yahoo messenger customer. The phone company will charge standard text rates, which depend on the plan that she chose.

lol, no yahoo wont charge but your mobile provider will charge every message as a text. If you have unlimited texting with your provider don't worry about it. And if you limited then keep in track for every text you send whether is yahoo or to another mobile number.
