Why are ID's suddenly showing on my messenger instead of real names?

Why are strange names showing up as "friends" on my Yahoo Messenger????

  • About once every day or so, a strange name appears under the "Friends" category on my messenger. I delete them as I see them, including deleting from the address book. A different name appears! Is this a form of spam or a virus? The profiles attached to the names seem like real people.? Mine is set up so that I have to APPROVE you before you can be added as a friend, so uninvited names are not what I expect to see! Thanks if you can help! Anyone else have this issue???

    I don't have the same issue but here are things u can do Get a new screen name Talk to them a ask who they are Tell them to go away You can block them if that does not help then get another hotmail account

Maybe someone else uses your messenger? That's the only possibility I can think of. I don't think random names are added to your list as a virus either. Maybe someone has also hacked your account? Change your password if you already haven't. That's the only advice I can give for now.

That is strange, i havent had that happen, but I do have some crazy messages that i get that are in arabic. Like at least 5 a day when I am offline.
