How do I delete the whole message archive on the Mac Yahoo Messenger?

Is the Windows yahoo messenger archive compatible with the Mac yahoo messenger archive?

  • I just switched to an imac and i was wondering if i copied my archive from my windows computer if it woud be compatible with my mac yahoo messenger.

       No they are not, the file formats are completely different. On a Windows machine the archives are kept as .dat files, I believe they are .plist files on a Mac.    Also the file path is completely different. On a Windows machine your archives are located in C:\ Program Files\ Yahoo!\ Messenger\ Profiles\ Y! screen name\ Archive\ Messages while the file path on a Mac is completely different.    Please remember that once 4 hours have elapsed since you've asked your question you are able to select a Best Answer.
