How do you find a person's Yahoo screen name by there real name?

How do you I delete my name from the section Right Above the FIND BOX on the IM yahoo messenger screen?

  • If I didn't want my name to appear or I wanted to change my name how would I delete/change it. For example, when you first click on your little yellow smile the IM box comes up - I would like to change my name that appears there.

    First, Follow this path. Open ur messenger window> contacts> my profile> click on ur ID> edit>it will take u to ur 360 page> click settings> it will take u to basic info> make changes in Name and Nick Name as u need> make changes in Yahoo Identity display> save. Second, click on messenger> my contact details> make changes here as per ur need> save and close. It will solve ur problem.

The following generic answer will probably help . . . You have to change it in three places . Goto My Account from the top of any yahoo page and edit your contact details . 2nd make sure your profile which also can be accessed from My Account does not have your name listed . Last goto the main messenger window Messenger tab - My Contact Details , change that as well . Now the other problem is this with messenger anyone who you have on your list will still have your old Contact Information listed . They must request your new contact information or it will remain the same . Problem there is they arent going to do it most likely specially if you dont know them . What you will have to do us use DAB - Deny A Buddy which will remove your name from thier list . Then delete them from your list and re-add them if you wish . Just deleting someone from your list does not mean you are removed from thier list , you will still be on thier list .
