How do I get rid of a fake Yahoo! Messenger window that pops up when I log into my Yahoo email account?

A Yahoo! Messenger window pops up whenever I log into only one of my email accounts. It usually lists one or two names with the option to add, decline, or block the users displayed. It is obviously fake since it has no characteristics of Yahoo! Messenger except for the name at the top of the window, and it has no menu for selecting options. Also, I do not use Yahoo! Messenger. It pops up in only one of my Yahoo email accounts. I can continue to work in email while the window is open; I can also minimize it and close it. My fear is that by by its mere existence or my clicking on it somehow compromises my privacy or security. Please help.

Just don't click on it. It's probably an ad or scam. Just go about your business or exit out of your browser.
