How do I remove the Yahoo IM icon from my taskbar?

  if you are talking about the task tray on the right. You can right click on the start button and select properties. Select task bar tab tick hide in active icons. The customize button to thew right will become active. click on customize and look for the yahoo messenger icon(s) make them always hide. Yow should also log into yahoo messenger, go to preferences. Under the general tab remove the tick from the box where u see automatically start yahoo messenger
