How Can You Tell When Someone Is Online On Yahoo Messenger?

I'm new to yahoo messenger, how do i tell if someone is online or offline on yahoo messenger?

Answer:

When you open up Messenger, you will have several headings at the top--under one of them (I think it's "options") it will give you the option of seeing all your friends whether they are online or offline. After you set your Messenger to do that, you can see whether their light is lit up (yellow) which means they are online or whether it's gray which means they are either offline or logged in as invisible.

You can see it on your friendlist, if the smiley infront the ID is yellow, it means he/she is online.
