How to recover lost contacts on yahoo messenger?

I was organizing my yahoo messenger contacts into different groups and everything was fine and I signed out. When I logged back in the new groups that I had created were still there, but so were the old ones that I had previously deleted. My contacts were then scattered into different random groups. I tried to organize them again but soon after I realized that a lot of my contacts have been deleted unintentionally. How do I recover them?
