How do I delete all items in my quick search box?

How can I delete the items in the dropdown arrow in the contact search box ?

     First, sign out of Messenger then exit the program completely. If you remain logged into Messenger while following the remaining instructions a new file will be created later when you DO log out and all the names will remain in the Contact Search Bar.    Second, use your My Computer icon (or whatever works for you) to navigate your way to C: > Program Files > Yahoo! > Messenger > Cache. You need to find your conversation history files, these will be files of the type .xml and will have gibberish names like "EzuxYzMtv12Nq6GggrUJFA - .conversationhistory (maybe with .xml too)". The gibberish in front is not important, you just need to find all of them ending with ".conversationhistory(.xml)" because these are the ones that keep track of your conversations and record the names which appear in your Contact Search Bar. There should be one such file for each ID used to sign into Messenger on that computer.    Delete those files, being sure to delete ONLY the ones ending with ".conversationhistory(.xml)". There are similar files ending in ".chatCategories(.xml)", ".gameprowler(.xml)", ".InstalledPlugins(.xml)" and others, do NOT delete these. If you're worried about deleting them just cut and paste them into a new folder on your desktop so if you accidentally screw something up you can put the files back.    Third, once you've deleted the files you can open Messenger again and sign back in. Now when you click the arrow in the Contact Search Bar it should be empty.
