When I try to display my avatar or get my mail in messenger it always takes me to AOL, why?How do I fix it?

I can not get my Avatar or my email on messenger. It goes to AOL page and says: Web page not available. I don't have AOL! How can I stop this from happening and is it simple or complicated?
