How do I use my web cam for instant messaging?

Instant messenger. what are steps to use w/ web cam?

    Try this: Click messenger top left, scroll down and click preferences then scroll down and click webcam where you can make adjustments, click o.k. To make sure it is o.k. click messenger top left, scroll down and click my webcam. and your webcam should come on. You should also run your call setup. Click actions top row of the messenger window scroll down click call setup and follow the prompts. When you are chatting with someone click on webcam in the chat window. I hope that is of some help. My own opinion is that if you are going to be webcamming regularly download windows live messenger to me it is far better than Yahoo messenger http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?locale=en_GB&page=content&y=PROD_MSNG&id=SLN1535&impressions=true

When you downloaded and installed msngr, you must have clicked boxes (or didn't unclick) options for what to show when msngr launches. I don't know if these things can be changed after the fact, but you can go into Preferences under Conversation and look at everything in each category to see what, if anything fits as a fix. If there is one, it's probably just a matter of checking or unchecking a box. If worse comes to worse, uninstall the version you have now, and reload the latest version paying very close attention to everything in print as you do it so you are sure to pick the options you want. When it's working properly, just click on Actions, then at the bottom (on my computer, anyway), More Actions, then pick one of the two options there: View my webcam or Invite to my webcam. That should cover it. By the way, I don't know for sure which, if any of those pages are supposed to be automatic no matter what and which ones you can change.
