I cant view my friends webcam. help!?

i cant view the webcam of my friend even w permission. it doenst even say anything. just wont work! and even when i get invitation. i dont seem to see the invitation.... just that beeping noise that i get when i click view webcam too. on the otherhand, they can view my camera w no problem... am using macMA699 ... i need help. i need a reason to use ym still and not completely leave it for a better skype . LOL :D answers are greatly appreciated....

check your firewall settings check if yahoo messenger is fully allowed i recommend using zone alarm's firewall and dont use windows firewall
