How do i know my info is safe, when i go to the page to order the yahoo plus why isnt the site secured?

i want to do the free trial for 30 days of yahoo plus, it takes me to the page where you have to enter you account information, but the site is not secure...there isnt a padlock on the bottom of the screen

I have been using the Yahoo! Mail Plus for years and never have had anyone get my infomation.

The reality is a lot of the time your data goes over open channels in one way or another, but for the most part unless you are Donald Trump, or some other really rich person noone really wants to nab your debit card info for the $114.34 in your bank account. Yahoo has been around for a long time and is one of the few to never screw it up. They can probably be trusted.
