Why do I get disconnected from chat?

Why do I get disconnected from chat and a window pops up and says I have connected to yahoo Messenger?

When I log onto yahoo mail the chat starts automatically. Several times a widow will open during my session telling me "You have been disconnected from chat because you have signed into Yahoo! Messenger from another computer of device". I have not signed on to messenger.... what is causing this?
Answer:

You may be getting this message because you are disconnecting from Yahoo Messenger because you are going to your mailbox and you are signing into Mail Chat automatically. Besides your username, you should see an option, "Available". Click on it and change your status to "Offline" by clicking on "Sign out of Chat". You will then be able to log back into IM and stay logged in. You cannot be signed into both IM and Mail Chat at the same time.
