How do I get an IM account?

How do I get a second IM account?

  • I've been using my husbands IM acct and would like to set up one of my own. How can I get a second acct on my computer? Won't my husbands acct be deleted if I download one for myself?

  • Answer:

Sign out of Yahoo! Messenger (click Messenger on the menu at the top and click Sign Out). On the face of Yahoo! Messenger, click on (in blue) Get a new Yahoo! ID. Follow the prompts. You having a Yahoo! account does not affect your husband's account at all, they are seperate accounts. For additional help with Yahoo! Messenger, check out these two sites offering Yahoo! you can just create your own by registering with yahoo. You don't need to download anything since all you need is an account, not another IM client. You can use many account with the same company on their client(usually one at a time per computer)

No. You set it up. We have 2 PCs with separate accounts. You shouldn't have any problems downloading a second one.
