Can not delete yahoo messenger contacts?

Ive got the latest yahoo messenger, There a contacts in my friends list im trying to delete, I right click on them, click delete, tick delete from address book too but they do not delete, a little icon appears next to them and the text sort of dulls a little bit but next time i sign back into messenger there back again.
