Yahoo Messenger stopped working. Why does this happen when I download Yahoo Messenger?

I am trying to download Yahoo Messenger v9 and everytime, after the full download, I receive a dialog box that says - Yahoo Messenger has stopped working. But the Messenger icon appears on my desktop

I think your system dont have some plug-ins. what you can do delete all the yahoo files and re-install again. This time you can it. Still if you find difficulty you can use web messenger. here its not required to download at the same time its 9.0 version
