How do you install Yahoo messenger on computer?

How do I check the Fire Wall setting in my computer to successfully download and install Yahoo! Messenger?

  • I was downloading Yahoo! Messenger when a message says "Yahoo! Messenger is unable to unload files needed for installation, please check Fire Wall setting and retry". How do I do this?

    Uninstall the Yahoo messenger completely. First uninstall from add\remove programs and follow the steps below: Go to the Start menu, click Run. Type regedit.exe and then click Ok to open the Registry Editor. In the editor window, go to the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\, delete Yahoo, and then exit the Registry Editor. Add the *.yahoo.com in the trusted site and try to install it again. ================ Can you download the wireless test tool right click and choose run as admin then post the results. Check also your host file and that there is no proxy set in IE =============== Have you installed any antivirus or 3rd party firewall on your system if yes than try to off those settings as well. ===============
