Is there any way i can get an instant messenger that doesnt use up so much memory ?

every time i try to download the instant messenger my computer stops completely....i just want to instant message people....is there a version of instant messenger that a lower grade instant messenger that will still work with my system so i an actually instant message people instead of being a lonely loser?

You can either download a universal messenger that supports Yahoo, AIM, etc., it is called GAIM Instant Messenger, do a Google search on it. Or, you could buy more RAM, RAM is pretty cheap nowadays.

Instead of downloading a messenger (such as aim) they have something called aim express. It just pops up your buddy list but it doesnt save anything to your computer.
