How do I block instant messages I dont want to receive from a particular person?

someone I gave my IM to is a registered sex offender; as soon as I found this out- I wanted him to stop but I can no longer find how to block him like I used to be able to do to people

@..first you have to delete that person from your messenger friends list...that is just by right clicking tht persons id in your messenger list and select delete also select delete from address book then at the main messenger window click messenger>preferences>ignore list>select ignoreonly the person below tn click add and type his yahoo id there ..remember before deleting the person from your messenger list dont forget to note his yahoo id..yahoo id is obtained by right clicking his name on your messenger list and view his contact detais

I know there some way of reporting them to the Yahoo staff or you could put them on Ignore. If all else fails, Then start a new ID under your IM program.
