How do I make my contact list in IM smaller?

How can I set my Yahoo! Messenger to not to show my online status to those who are not im my contact list?

This was previously answered. Try searching before posting. However, you can turn off this function by going to Yahoo IM preferences and unchecking the show me off-line.

you have to set your status to invisible... there should be a button on your screen and itll be a drop down...

Easy! When you open your Y! Messenger then there are 3 options: 1# Remember my ID & Passwd, #2 Autometically sign in, #3 Sign in as invisible.................if yoiu choose this last one than you will ALWAYS signed in invisiblely.............the problem is not only the ppl who are not in your contact list won't see you, ppl in your list won't see you as well. You have to knock them......if you want to let them know that you are online!

Sign in Yahoo Messenger then click on ur im face , u see that there is an option "Offline". Click it. When u sign in Yahoo Messenger , select the option "Show me offline to everyone". By this way u'll be hidden to all.
