Where are the sounds in Yahoo Messenger 8.1?

On Yahoo Messenger when I send or get a message the alerts and sounds are way wrong, how to fix pls?

  • I have already taken it off my computer 4x and re-installed yahoo messenger 4x and with no luck, It still sound really bad. Not like it Yahoo messenger should sound. But the rest of my comuter sounds just find. So no worries there. I have even restored my system thinking it was maybe that that needed to be done, and it wasnt. All was well. It's ws the Yahoo Mesenger, (alerts & Sounds). So if someone could please get back to me andhelo me out here I would be ever so greatful for the help. So I could have my messenger back to sounding the way it did. Please. Thank you so much,

    Yahoo! updated the sounds in 8.0 (but they didn't change the names of the sound files). They are the same sounds used in Mac Messenger. If you want the old ones you can get them from here: http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/owavs.zip FWIW, I like the newer sounds. They're cleaner and more modern.

You must have Yahoo Messenger Version 8. I noticed that the sound it makes when I receive an e-mail was a weird clicking noise. I like the old version better too. Unfortunately I don't know how to change it. At the top of the messenger window click "Messenger" then click "preferences" then click "sounds &alerts" I had no luck but maybe you can figure it out.
