How can I send message to a mobile phone from Yahoo messenger?

The new yahoo messenger, how do you send a message to someone's cell phone?

  • I usually go to the older messenger but mine messed up a while ago so I'm stuck using the messenger on the web. I need to send a SMS to one of my new contacts. I can't find any options.

  • Answer:

The latest version of Yahoo! Messenger allows you to send text messages to your friends' mobile phones and receive their responses right from your computer. All you need is your friends' mobile phone numbers. You can send text messages to friends who have service with any of the following wireless carriers: * USA: AT&T, Cingular, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile * India: Hutchinson, Airtel, Spice, Escotel, and Reliance * Singapore: Singtel * Thailand: AIS and DTAC * Malaysia: TMTouch * Philippines: Smart and Globe To send a text message: 1. Choose one of these three primary ways to start sending a text message: * Click the "Contacts" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Send a Text Message." * Right-click the contact from the Messenger List and select "Send a Text Message" (then skip to step 3). * Click the text message icon in the address book (then skip to step 3). 2. Enter a mobile phone number or choose from the pull-down menu of existing numbers. Make sure you have added the country code (for example, +91) if it is an International number. 3. Type your message and click the "Send" button. Note: To use the right-click menu or Address Book icon, you must have a mobile number listed in the Contact Details for that person. Country codes: * USA +1 * India +91 * Singapore +65 * Thailand +66 * Malaysia +60 * Philippines +63

To my knowledge, firstly, make sure the user (so call someones cell phone) is registered with Yahoo Messenger. The user's phone number and the make model of the hand phone registered with Yahoo Messenger. There shall be an indicator showing hand phone beside the user's name. If the user Yahoo Messenger off line. You can sent Massage. The user (someones cell phone) will receive your massage over her/his hand phone.

How is Yahoo! Messenger for the Web different from the messenger application that’s installed on my computer? Yahoo! Messenger for the web is designed to complement Yahoo! Messenger on your desktop. To say things like, “Great job!” or, “Why didn’t I think of that!!!” OK, maybe not. But what it does do is handle the basics: your Messenger List and real-time online conversations. Adding contacts and adjusting your status. Even saving and searching your past messages. In the web version of Messenger, your image/avatar is on display, and your stealth settings and block list are also in effect. But you can’t modify these things. To make those adjustments, use the application (the ‘client’) that’s installed on your computer. In Messenger for the Web, you also won’t be able to conference, chat, transfer files or share photos; or use webcams, Voice, IMvironments, LaunchCast Radio, PlugIns, or audibles. I think SMS is also not available in this version.
