Yahoo Messenger stores them as .dat files on your harddrive, usually in "C\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles". How to copy the archive and paste it to another computer... Close the messenger (if it's currently running) -> go to your desktop and double-click "my computer" -> select the c: drive. Go to "c:\program files\Yahoo!\messenger\profiles" -> the "profiles" folder contains your complete message archive -> copy it to the same location on another machine. Note: doing this, your complete archive will be copied, overriding the archive on the machine to which you're copying. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger8/messenger/mstacopyarchive.html

Its best to copy the whole Profile folder from one computer to the next. The location on your C drive is dependent on what Operating System you are using ( XP and earlier) Start / My Computer / C:drive / Program Files / Yahoo/ Messenger / Profiles Vista Start / Computer / Local disk (C) / Users / (Computer ID name) / Apps / App Data / Local /Virtual Store / Program Files / Yahoo! / Messenger / Profiles >
